John Tyden 'Tony' Ketcham

John Tyden "Tony" Ketcham, 69, a corporate attorney who specialized in energy law, died Sept. 26 of chronic renal failure at his
home in Bowie.
Mr. Ketcham was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and moved to Washington as a high school senior. He graduated from
Roosevelt HighSchool and then attended George Washington University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business
in 1958 and a law degree in 1961.
He worked as a lawyer for the General Services Association for a few years before becoming a partner in the firm of McGee and
Ketcham in 1970. When the partnership disbanded in the late 1980s, he joined the firm of Wright and Talisman. In 1991, he
joined the Energy Department as a legal consultant in the office of general counsel, where he was employed at the time of his
death.
Mr. Ketcham was a pilot and for some years had his own plane. He also worked with Young Life in Prince George's County.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Claire Bette Ketcham of Bowie; three daughters, Jennifer Ketcham and Ann Ketcham,
both of Bowie, and Joan Matthews of Baltimore; and a sister.
