Irving Line

Irving Line, 86, proprietor of the Line's Den, an upscale women's clothing store in Silver Spring and later Bethesda, died
March 3 at his home in Palm Desert, Calif. He had leukemia.

From 1970 until 1991, Mr. Line was a personal shopper to Washington area women and bought fashionable clothes for
his store by making trips to the New York fashion district.

Mr. Line was a Washington native and a graduate of
Roosevelt High School. He owned another women's clothing
store, Dolls and Dames, which opened in the District in 1951 and moved to Silver Spring before it closed in the late
1960s.

He lived in Rockville before moving to Palm Desert in 2000.

His marriage to Lila Line ended in divorce. A son from his first marraige, Adam Line, died in 2008.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Sondra Wool Line of Palm Desert; two children from his first marriage, Steven
Line of Kernersville, N.C., and Jonathan Line of Tavernier, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Tammi Thurm of Greensboro, N.C.,
and Sherri Heller of Lancaster, Pa.; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
