Hugh H. Currie

Hugh H. Currie, 91, a retired accountant and financial officer, died Sept. 7 of pneumonia at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington
County. He lived in Arlington.
Mr. Currie was born in Montreal and came to Washington in his youth. He graduated from  Theodore Roosevelt Senior High
School
and from Washington's old Benjamin Franklin University. He also studied at George Washington University.
He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II and was a member of the Eighth Air Force.
He was a bank officer with the old American Security and Trust for many years, then worked as a financial officer with
Aeronautical Radio in Washington and Annapolis. He was a senior accountant with Allegheny Airlines, which became USAir in
1979, for about 20 years before his retirement in 1984.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Florence H. Currie of Arlington; two sons, John M. Currie of Leesburg and Stephen R.
Currie of Oakton; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
