Herbert Prescott Hall, 90, a millwork estimator for Washington Woodworking from 1942 to 1984, died Jan. 9 at
Montgomery General Hospital in Olney. He had pneumonia and suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Hall, a native Washingtonian, graduated from  
Roosevelt High School  in 1935 and received a bachelor's
degree in engineering from the University of Maryland in 1939.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Hall was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Silver Spring and Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, and
served on the Montgomery County Board of Property Review for the last 14 years. He was a Silver Spring resident.

His wife of 54 years, Margaret Foley Hall, died in 1997. His companion of six years, Betty Shaw, died in 2007.

Survivors include four children, Sharon Hudson of Newark, Del., Stephen Hall of Columbia, Susan Flaherty of
Bishopville, and Sherrill Hall of Gaithersburg; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
