George Ellis Walker

NEW BERN - George Ellis Walker, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday,
February 18, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. A loving son, husband,
father, grandfather, brother, friend, and mentor, he will be deeply missed by
many.

George was born on March 27, 1944, in Portsmouth, VA. He graduated from
Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C., as Salutatorian of his
class and attended High Point College. In 1964, George married the love of his
life, Victoria Miller and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. He was employed
with the Coca Cola Company and retired after 45 years of service. George was a
Mason and enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and Highway Patrol
model cars. He enjoyed working in his yard.

George is survived by his mother, Maxine Montgomery; his loving wife, Victoria
Walker; daughters, Jodie Black and husband Mark of Greenville, NC, Kelly
Walker and very close friend Robert Broughton of New Bern, NC, and Vicki
Lynn Stephens and husband Bobby of Vanceboro, NC; grandchildren Matthew,
Madison, Jessica, John, Adam, Autumn and Austin; and brother, Scott Walker
and wife Renay of Matthews, NC; niece Laura Armel and husband Roger; and
great nieces Ashley and Olivia.

Graveside services will be private in Greensboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Health and
Hospice, Suite A, 1319 S. Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562 or to Special
Olympics, 2200 Gateway Centre Blvd., Suite 201, Morrisville, NC 27560 or to a
charity of one's choice.
