

DOROTHY McKINLEY HORNER (Age 95)
Passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 of Silver Spring, MD at her home,
in the care of her family.
She was born on November 1, 1915, in Washington, DC. A fourth
generation Washingtonian, she was the child of the late Margaret McClellan and
Lowell McKinley of Georgetown.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in the District of Columbia
where she was a member of Lambda Chi Sorority, and after further business
studies, she managed the Western Union offices in Georgetown and at Union
Station. Subsequently, she was a personnel specialist at the Federal Housing
Administration and the Naval Ordnance Laboratory from which she retired.
Beloved wife for 52 years of the late Andrew Annan Horner, who died in
1990; loving mother of Marcia Nilson and John Horner. Also survived by other
loving family and friends.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University
Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Tuesday, January 25 from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace
Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD on Wednesday, January 26,
2011 at 11 a.m.
Interment of her remains will be held at a later date at Emmitsburg
Presbyterian Cemetery, Emmitsburg, MD.
