Bertha P. Sintetos Greenich

Bertha P. Greenich, 88, who worked as an administrative assistant with the National Bureau of Standards, died of complications of cancer Sept. 5 at her home at Brighton Gardens of Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda.
Ms. Greenich, who was known as Bertie, was born in the family home in  Washington. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1936 and   began working for the federal government.
After 35 years, she retired in 1971 from what is now the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
She enjoyed traveling by car to the Pocono Mountains. She was active in several ballroom dancing societies throughout her life and was known for her gardening prowess.
"She loved her clothes and her jewelry," said a nephew, Anthony Sintetos, adding that his aunt took pride in her appearance.
Her marriage to George Greenich ended in divorce.
Survivors include a sister, Shea Sintetos of Bethesda; and a brother, Peter Sintetos of Silver Spring.
