Audrey Armistead Ruckert, 75, a collector of antique dolls, died of a disease of the lungs Dec. 27 at her home in Silver Spring.
Mrs. Ruckert was born in Washington, the daughter of Eva and Alten Armistead and a descendant of the Armisteads of Virginia. She was the granddaughter of sea captain Harry Armistead of New Point, Va., from whom she inherited a love of the Chesapeake Bay and sailing.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Maryland, where she was a member of Alpha Zeta Delta sorority.
Mrs. Ruckert collected more than 100 antique dolls and was a 40-year member of the Dollology Club of Washington, D.C. She also collected and decorated with antique fabrics.
As a member of the Potomac Chrysanthemum Society, she loved growing a variety of flowers and herbs at her summer home at the Willows community in Calvert County. In addition to antiques, her interests included Shetland sheepdogs.
Her marriage to Melvin Wright ended in divorce.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James A. Ruckert of Silver Spring; a son from her first marriage, Jon Wright of Washington; a son from her second marriage, Robert D. Ruckert of the Willows; and a granddaughter.
