Margaret Kremkau Mayer

Margaret "Peg" Kremkau Mayer, 96, a resident
of Gambrills for the last eight years, and previously a
15-year resident of Annapolis, died August 15 of
natural causes at the Crofton Care and Rehabilitation.

Peg was born July 5, 1916 in Keithsburg, IL.
She attended Central High School/
Roosevelt High
School
in Washington DC. She was a secretary for the Department of
Agriculture in Beltsville, retiring in 1969.

After retirement, Peg and her husband moved to Fenwick Island where they
loved having family in the summer months. They traveled in the winter months
to Mesa, AZ. Peg enjoyed sewing, playing cards, slot machines, cooking and
playing the organ.

Married November 28, 1938, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer
"Moe" Mayer, in 1982. Peg was also predeceased by her brothers, George
Kremkau and Robert Kremkau, and her sister, Florence Goelz.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Mayer of Chestertown; her daughters, Mary
Lou Harris and Nancy Creel, both of Gambrills; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, at
Hardesty Funeral Home P.A., 851 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills.
