

VINCENT JOSEPH HEARING
Born June 18, 1923 in Atlantic City, New
Jersey, died on January 5, 2012, with his children
by his side. Vincent grew up in Atlantic City, NJ and
then Philadelphia, PA, before moving to Washington,
DC in 7th grade.
He met the love of his life and wife of sixty five years in his 8th grade
class. He attended high school at Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC
and then enrolled at Georgetown University.
World War II intervened and he enlisted in order to serve his country. Just
before being deployed to Europe, he married Denise Cassou in St. Louis,
Missouri.
After returning from the war, he completed his undergraduate degree and
continued his service in the U.S. Army for almost forty years. He retired from
the Army in 1966 as a Lt. Colonel, and began a second career with the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development.
His wife, Denise, preceded him in death three years ago. He is survived by
his children, Vincent Hearing, Jr. in Haymarket, VA, Annette Hearing in Media,
PA, Patrick Hearing in St. James, NY, Christopher Hearing in Rockville, MD
and Jenifer Laubach in Bethesda, MD.
A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m., Monday, January 9 at St. Mary's
Church in Rockville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Gonzaga High
School in Washington, DC.
