THOMAS PAUL MUDD (Age 80) Thomas Paul
Mudd, who taught school in Prince Georges' County,
MD and in Sacramento, CA was born in washington, DC
on May 18, 1930.

He spent his formative years attending St. Francis Xavier School and
Gonzaga High School. He died December 13, 2010 of cancer.

While a child he and his identical twin brother Francis were frequently
requested to be altar boys at weddings and funerals since there were so
strinkingly alike. As a daring youth, to prove his prowess, he walked across
the top rail of Souza Bridge, located on Pennsylvania Ave., starting at Barney
Circle to where it ended at Twining City.

He attended seminary for nine and one half years but did not choose to be
ordained a priest. He taught at St. Columba School in Oxon Hill, MD before
moving to Sacramento, CA where he taught emotionally disturbed teens for
the Sacramento Public Schools. He was nominated for the teacher of the year
during this period. He was capable of teaching six different languages. Paul's
greatest passion was in theology and apologetics. He attended daily Mass and
his greatest joy was to receive the sacrament of the Eucharist. His Faith was
unwavering.

His hobby was studying the American Indian Culture which took him to near
and far locations to seek information and observe artifacts. He accumulated
many Indian relics such as tomahawks and arrowheads many of which he
actually searched for and discovered himself along riverbeds and pathways.

Paul was the great-grandson of Dr. Samual A. Mudd, the famed doctor who
set John Wilkes Booth's leg following the assassination of President Abraham
Lincoln.

He was dedicated to family history. Paul is preceded in death by his father,
T. Paul Mudd and mother Frances Finotti Mudd. He is also survived by four
brothers, his twin, Francis Finotti Mudd of Auburn, CA, John Philip Mudd of
Coral Gables, FL, Richard Joseph Aloysius Mudd of Springfield, VA and a
sister, Mary Catherine Robey of Centreville, VA.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on December 17, 2010 at St. Rose
Catholic Church in Sacramento, CA. He is buried at New Castle Cemetery in
New Castle, Sacramento, CA.
