Richard L. Sullivan, 68, a financial analyst at the U.S. departments of  Commerce and Agriculture, died of heart disease Aug. 6 at
Suburban Hospital. He lived in Chevy Chase.
Mr. Sullivan worked for the Commerce Department from 1968 to 1990, primarily in the Economic Development Administration.
He then worked for the Agriculture Department until retiring in 1994.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Washington, and graduated from  Gonzaga College High School and Georgetown University. He
received a law degree in 1968 from Catholic University.
His marriage to Sheila Gallagher Sprague ended in divorce.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin Sullivan of Rockville, Dr. Brian Sullivan of Annapolis and Timothy Sullivan of New York; a
sister, Anne Hillyard of Alexandria; a brother, Daniel Sullivan of Lexington Park, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
