Richard L. Conroy, 75, of Annapolis, died
March 1, at the Mandrin House.
He was born on March 13, 1935 in Washington,
D.C. Growing up in D.C., Mr. Conroy attended
Gonzaga High School and graduated with a BS in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Following his service in the army, he was an award
winning salesman with IBM and Computer Sciences
Corporation before moving into management at the Social Security
Administration and ultimately retiring as a Director of MIS at the Pension
Benefit Guaranty Corporation. He loved spending time with his children and
grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Sean Conroy and brother Mike Conroy.
He is survived by his former wife, Gwen Conroy, of Annapolis; two
daughters, Betty Ballard of Millersville and Laurie Murchake of Annapolis;
two sons, Joe Conroy of Leesburg, Va. and Mark Conroy of Clarksville;
brother, Jack Conroy, of Colorado Springs, and sister, Sharon Shea of
Edmonton, Canada. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Erin, Patrick,
Ryan, Caitlin, Julianne, Cassie, Sean, Nick, Holly, Anna, Samantha, Emma,
and Maddie.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 3, from 5-8 p.m. at
Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. in
Severna Park.
A mass will be held Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at St. John Newmann
Church, with a burial to follow at Lakemont Cemetery.
