Patrick C. Casey, a television journalist who was executive news director
for two stations in Dayton, Ohio, died of a brain tumor March 19 at a hospice
in Cincinnati. He was 54.
Mr. Casey, a native Washingtonian, began his television career in
Baltimore. From 1984 to 1990, he worked at three Washington area stations
and contributed to coverage on the death of Len Bias, a University of
Maryland basketball player who had a drug overdose.He left the Washington
area in the early 1990s and worked in television news in Maine and California
before settling in Cincinnati in 2000.
Patrick Conway Casey was a 1975 graduate of Gonzaga College High
School.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Maureen McCormick Casey and
their three children, Paul Casey, Mary Casey and John Casey, all of
Cincinnati; and two brothers, Francis L. Casey III and Thomas D. Casey,
both of Washington.
