Lewis S. Montgomery, 89, an electrician who retired from Embassy Dairy in
Waldorf in about 1990, died Jan. 27 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince
Frederick. He had complications from surgery after a fall at his home in
Lusby.
Mr. Montgomery spent his early career working at the Patuxent River Naval
Air Station and Alton P. Burgess electrical contractors.
Lewis Stephen Montgomery was a native of Bryantown and a graduate of
Gonzaga College High School in Washington. He was an Army veteran of
World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Greenwell Montgomery of
Lusby; five children, Barbara Jones of Hedgesville, W.Va., Linda Dyer of
Lusby, Carolyn Magill of Hughesville, June Groft of Riva and Dwight
Montgomery of Waldorf; six sisters; a brother; 15 grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
