JOHN QUINN AUKWARD, SR.
Washington DC native, died peacefully at home in
Bethesda on November 19, 2011 surrounded by his
children and grandchildren. Husband of the late Ellen
Burton Aukward; father of John Aukward Jr, Katherine
Tighe, and Ann Novick; father in-law of Kelly Aukward,
Douglas Tighe, and Jeffrey Novick; and grandfather of
Matthew and Taylor Aukward and Ella and Rowen Novick.
He is survived by his sister, Bernadette Aukward and was preceded in death by his
brother, Joseph Aukward.
Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 2222 Wisconsin Ave, NW (parking
opposite at 2233 Wisconsin Ave) on Tuesday, November 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
There will also be visitation at the Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts
Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20816, on Wednesday, November 23, from 11 a.m. until
the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at noon.
Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be
made to Gonzaga College High School, 19 I St NW Washington, DC 20001.
