

JOHN DONALD ROBINSON "Don"
Born October 8, 1928 in Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on
March 17, 2011 in his home in Falls Church, VA. He is survived by his
beloved wife of 59 years, Myrle E. Robinson "Peg"; his daughter, Patricia R.
Maloney (Patty) and her husband, Joseph C. Maloney, Jr. of Williamsburg,
VA; his son, Joseph K. Robinson, Sr. "Joe" and his wife, Ruthie Robinson of
Great Falls, VA; three grandchildren, Joseph K. Robinson, Jr. "Joey", Victoria
G. Robinson (Tori) and John D. Robinson (Jack); and his sister, Betty L.
Robinson of Vienna, VA.
Don was a native Washingtonian, growing up on M Street N.E., attending
Gonzaga High School and the University of Maryland, and then moving to
Falls Church in 1955.
Don was a founding partner of Travel Coordinators making travel
arrangements for individuals and companies world-wide. Throughout his
career, he held a variety of other travel-related positions with The Washington
Terminal Company at Union Station, Canadian Pacific Railroad and Suburban
Trust Company. He also served in the US Army and was stationed at Ft.
Benning, GA in the early 1950's
Don was an avid sports fan, following the games of the Redskins, the
Nationals, University of Maryland and most importantly, the many sports
played by his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening,
playing bridge and bowling. He and Peg enjoyed entertaining, hosting family
Sunday dinners, bridge parties and the annual Fourth of July crab feast for
neighbors and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Philip Catholic Church,
7500 St. Philip's Ct., Falls Church, VA, 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23,
2011. Interment private.
