

JAMES KEVIN MALLOYof Edgewater died at age 74 on Sunday, August
15. A Washington DC native, he was the son of the late DC Municipal Court
Judge John James Malloy and Anastatia Malloy; and attended Blessed
Sacrament, Gonzaga High School and Georgetown University.
He moved to Fairhaven, MD rearing his family on the Chesapeake Bay.
He was a commercial real estate broker, developer and builder for many
years, and also worked at the Driggs Corporation. He served on the Board of
Calverton School and was a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and the
Chesapeake Bay Power Boaters Association.
His interests included family fun, sports, boating, tennis and horses. He was a
devoted husband, father and grandfather. In 2000, he was blessed to receive a
heart transplant.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara; their three children, Michelle
Malloy Kelly and husband Chris of Chevy Chase, MD; Michael Kevin Malloy
and wife Christine of Potomac Falls, VA; John James Malloy and wife
Michelle of Churchton, MD; sister Regina Shriver of Long Meadow, MA; five
grandchildren: Kelly, McGrath, Caroline, Jack and Molly, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to James' Life Celebration at the George P.
Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday,
August 20, 2010 from 1:00pm until time of service begins at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County
Animal Shelter, where he found the "Sunshine" of his life, 6707 Animal
Shelter Road, Hughesville, MD 20637.
