

FRANK DEMUTH Ervin, 79, died September 7, 2010
at his residence. He was born in Washington, DC on
March 28, 1931 to the late Edward John Ervin and
Adelaide Demuth Ervin. Shortly after his birth, the Ervin
family moved to Hyattsville, MD.
They maintained a summer residence in Bay Ridge since
1924. Ultimately, he became a full time resident of Bay
Ridge for the past 51 years.
He graduated from Holy Redeemer School, Gonzaga High School, attended
the University of Maryland and graduated from Columbia Technical College
in Washington, DC.
In the 1950's, Frank started his building career in the Four Corners area of
Silver Spring, MD. Then he began building homes in Bay Ridge, Annapolis
Roads, Pendennis Mount and Great Meadows.
He was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church. Frank was also a 53
year life member of the Annapolis Yacht Club. He loved sailing his racing
sloop "Margie" on the Chesapeake Bay, parties and singing. Frank never went
anywhere without his kazoo in his pocket.
Frank is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret Collins Ervin; four sons,
Frank, Jr., Thomas (Michelle), Edward (Michelle) and Patrick (Jennifer);
seven grandsons and one granddaughter; and his brother Edward John Ervin.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; Adelaide Margaret Ervin and
Caroline Ervin Josey.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 10 from 2-4 and 6-8
PM at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. A
memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 11 at 9:30 AM at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis.
Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made
