John Milton Ward

JOHN M. WARD (Age 80)  

Passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in Ocala, FL.
He was a resident of Burke, VA, for 33 years.

He was born in Washington, D.C. on September 19,
1931.

He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 61 years, and their
five children, John D. Ward (Stacey) of Ocala, FL, Jim
Ward (Karen) of Poolesville, MD, Cheryl Honeycutt
(Jerome) of Virginia Beach, VA, Edward Ward (Lorie)
of Annandale, VA, and Carol Ward (Paul) of Libertyville,
IL. John has 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his brother,
Richie Ward, Eastern 1952.

A 1950 graduate of Eastern High School, he served in the U.S. Army for two years.
He worked as a mechanical engineer for Control Data Corporation for 19 years and
retired with Dynatech after 13 years.

John's greatest loves were his wife Ruth and his five children. Throughout his life and
upon retirement, John enjoyed playing softball. He traveled throughout the U.S. playing
softball and was proud of his accomplishments, which include winning two Senior
World Series rings. He also loved music.

We will have a time of remembrance and celebration of his life Saturday, September 8,
2012, at Kilroy's in Springfield, VA, at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the
Alzheimer's Association.
