Elizabeth Francis Ockershausen Ryan

Elizabeth Francis Ockershausen Ryan, 93, of Washington, D.C.,
died September 18, 2010 surrounded by family at Atria
Manresa.

She was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Washington, DC., and
graduated from
Eastern High School (1935). She met her
husband, Thomas T. Ryan, at Radio City Music Hall in New
York City, N.Y., where both had sisters who were members of
the Rockettes. They married in 1943.

In 1990, she moved to Leisure World in Silver Spring, and in March moved to Atria
Maresa in Annapolis. She enjoyed theater, golfing, boating and fishing. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Ryan, who died in 1971; and four
siblings, Harry "Heinz" Ockershausen, Christine Ockershausen Nealon, Bernard
"Bernie" Ockershausen and Marie Ockershausen Trotta.

She is survived by her brother, Andy Ockershausen; four children, T. Timothy Ryan of
New York, N.Y., Christine Ryan Turner of Annapolis, Norah Elizabeth Ryan of Denver,
Colo. and Patricia Ryan Bigham of Coronado, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 24 at St. John Neumann
Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis.
