Bruce Coleman Davis, 89, an Equitable Life Insurance Co.
bookkeeper for about 40 years who then spent 11 years doing
clerical work for the U.S. Geological Survey until the mid-1980s,
died March 13, 2007 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville,
Va.,
near Waynesboro. He had pneumonia.
Mr. Davis was a member of the D.C. Federation of Musicians
and spent much of his career playing piano at area hotels, lounges
and country clubs.
He moved from Arlington to Nelson County, Va., in the late 1980s and at his death was
a Nellysford resident.
He was a native of Washington and a 1935 graduate of Eastern High School.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Truslow Davis of Nellysford; a stepson,
Gary S. Small of Nellysford; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
