Barbara B. Burgoon, 91, a Greenbelt resident and past secretary and treasurer of the
Greenbelt Golden Age Club, a senior citizens group, died July 15 at her daughter’s
home in Elkton, Md., after a stroke.
She was born Barbara Buker in Washington and graduated from Eastern High
School in 1937. She attended Strayer’s Business College.
Her husband, Edward A. Burgoon, whom she married in 1942, died in 1997. Their
daughter Barbara Paulus died in April.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Okonowicz of Elkton; a brother; a sister; four
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
