ALBERT F. ESCH, M.D.  

On Friday, November 13, 2015 Dr. Esch died peacefully
at his home in Bethesda, with his family at his side. He
was born June 5, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late
Victor H. Esch, M.D. and Sophie Eisenbeiss; attended
Eastern High School (1942); received an M.A. and
M.D. from George Washington University.

Dr. Esch served as a Commander in the U.S. Naval
Reserves and was a decorated U.S. Navy Aviator and
Flight Surgeon. Dr. Esch was the Medical Director of the
Consumer Product Safety Commission. Previously, Dr. Esch was with the Food and
Drug Administration and also served as Chief of the Medical Division of the Federal
Aviation Agency. He worked in private practice specializing in Internal Medicine and
Aviation Medicine.

Friends will be received at Christ Lutheran Church, 8011 Old Georgetown Road,
Bethesda, MD on Monday, November 23 from 10 to 11 a.m. where service will follow at
11 a.m.

Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Washington, DC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Albert F. Esch, M.D. may be made to the
Washington Animal Rescue League, 71 Oglethorpe Street, NW, Washington, DC
20011, Attn: Devlopment Office (
