William Jesse Grubb, 90, a retired financial manager for Pepco, died Jul. 9 of congestive heart failure at Menno Haven retirement community in
Chambersburg, Pa. A former Silver Spring resident, he moved to Chambersburg in 2004.

Mr. Grubb was born in the District and graduated from  
Eastern High School in 1937. He began his career at Pepco in 1939 and received his
master's degree in accounting from Southeastern University in 1942. He retired from Pepco in 1981 after 42 years of service. He also was the
accountant for an association of electric companies.

He was a former member of Hughes United Methodist Church in Wheaton, where he served as treasurer.

Mr. Grubb's son, David S. Grubb, died in 2002.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruth Clayton Grubb of Chambersburg; five children, William C. Grubb of Galveston, Tex., Sharon C. Hansard
of Charles Town, W.Va., Nancy E. Galloway of Poolesville, Kenneth P. Grubb of Izmir, Turkey, and Susan Gould of Reston; 13 grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
