Toby Ehrlich Hayden

Toby Ehrlich Hayden, 84, who spent about 30 years doing administrative work for the Agriculture Department until retiring in the mid-1980s, died Aug. 5 at Suburban Hospital after an accident while crossing a street in Wheaton.
Mrs. Hayden was walking to her volunteer job with the Montgomery County Police Department when she was struck by a driver backing out of a driveway. The incident is under investigation, police said.
Mrs. Hayden, a Wheaton resident, was a native Washingtonian and a graduate of  Eastern High School.
Her husband of 48 years, Charles Laurence Hayden, died in 1988.
Survivors include six children, Dennis Hayden of Bethany Beach, Del., Patricia LaFleur of Cocoa, Fla., Greg Hayden of Tampa, Michael Hayden of Germantown, Judith Trautman of Ashland, Ore., and Carol Clark of Columbia; a brother, Dave Ehrlich of Silver Spring; a sister, Fannie Pritt of Silver Spring; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
