| Rita C. Chick, 85, a switchboard operator who became a liaison between the old Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone company and Capitol Hill, died Oct. 25 of a heart attack at Midland Hospital in Papillion, Neb. |

| Mrs. Chick worked for C& P from 1940 to 1976, when she retired. She was born in Washington and graduated from Eastern High School and almost immediately went to work at the phone company. |
|
|
| She moved to Riverdale in the 1950s and resided there until 14 months ago, when she moved to Bellevue, Neb. |
|
|
| Mrs. Chick volunteered at the Riversdale House Museum for 25 years. She also loved opera, theater and travel. |
|
|
| She had no immediate survivors. |
