Rita C. Chick

Rita C. Chick, 85, a switchboard operator who became a liaison between the old Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone company and Capitol Hill, died Oct. 25 of a heart attack at Midland Hospital in Papillion, Neb.
Mrs. Chick worked for C& P from 1940 to 1976, when she retired. She was born in Washington and graduated from  Eastern High School and almost immediately went to work at the phone company.
She moved to Riverdale in the 1950s and resided there until 14 months ago, when she moved to Bellevue, Neb.
Mrs. Chick volunteered at the Riversdale House Museum for 25 years. She also loved opera, theater and travel.
She had no immediate survivors.
