Naomi Frances Cross Deal

Naomi C. Deal
  On May 5, 2011 Naomi 'Nonie' Deal of Charlotte was called home to be
with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born Naomi Frances Cross
in Washington DC on November 26, 1923. Her Parents were George
Franklin and Rebecca Summers Cross, both of Washington, DC. She
graduated from
Eastern High School in DC where she resided until her
marriage to H. Max Deal on January 17, 1945. They celebrated over 65
years of married life until Max went to be with the Lord on October 9,
2010.

  She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother, as well as being a supportive daughter and sister to her
brother, George F. Cross, and her sister, Elizabeth 'Betty' Cross, both
residing in Harrisonburg VA. She was a very dedicated member of the
Lutheran Church, first at Incarnation Lutheran Church since 1962 until it
was reorganized a few years ago and, most recently, she maintained an
active membership at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Charlotte. Naomi has
always had a great love for children and started a Kindergarten at
Incarnation Lutheran and administered it.

  She supported and belonged to several women's organizations including
the Wilkie Beatty Circle at Incarnation Lutheran and was a member of the
Lutheran Church Women.

  Naomi is survived by three sons, Ronald Max Deal of Charlotte, Mark
and his wife Tracy Deal of Charlotte, John and his wife Shelley Deal
formerly of Charlotte now residing in San Antonio TX. She was also a
proud grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 10.

  Her life revolved around her husband, her family and friends and her
service to God. She and her gentle caring manner will be greatly missed by
family and friends alike.

  The family will receive friends at Harry & Bryant Co. 500 Providence
Rd. on Friday, May 13 between 6 and 8 p.m. There will be an internment
service at 10 am at Sharon Memorial Park on Saturday May 14, followed
by a service in celebration of her life at 11am at St. Luke's Lutheran
located at 3200 Park Rd; Charlotte, NC 28209-2004.

  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Luke's Lutheran
Church' for children's ministry, in her honor.
