Mary I. 'Val' Jensen, CIA analyst

Mary I. "Val" Jensen, 94, a research analyst for the Central Intelligence
Agency from 1947 until she retired in 1976, died Feb. 11 at the Goodwin
House retirement community in Alexandria of a pulmonary thrombosis.
Ms. Jensen worked for the Red Cross in Berlin during World War II
before joining the Office of Strategic Services, the wartime precursor of
the CIA. Earlier in her career, she was a clerk for Westinghouse Corp. in
the District.
Mary Ida Jensen was a native Washingtonian and a 1934 graduate of
Eastern High School. She lived in Bethesda from 1976 until 2002, when
she moved to Alexandria.
She was a member of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church and the
Sumner Village book club in Bethesda.
She had no immediate survivors.
