Mary Elizabeth Marshall, 92, a retired financial officer with the D.C. government, died July 2 at a hospice in Lancaster County, Pa., of complications
from a fall.
Mrs. Marshall, whose maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Ashby, was born in King George County, Va., and attended Eastern High School in
Washington. She joined the D.C. government in the mid-1930s and worked at the same desk until her retirement in 1972.
A longtime resident of Riverdale, she was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church and president of the Riverdale Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.
In 1993, she moved to Ephrata, Pa., where she lived with a niece, Barbara Noel.
Her husband of 55 years, George E. Marshall, died in 1991.
