| Mary Ann Carlson, 80, a homemaker who worked several years with Control Data in Bethesda until 1972, died Oct.13 at her home in Darnestown. She had myelodysplastic syndrome, a bone marrow disease. |
|
|
| Mrs. Carlson also worked over the years as an assistant manager to several savings and loan companies, at the Army Map Service, the Corps of Engineers and as special assistant to the commanding general of a Department of Defense strategic think tank. |
|
| She was born in Charlotte, N.C., moved to Washington as a teenager and graduated from Eastern High School. She married her high school sweetheart and for several years was a stay-at-home mother. |
|
|
| Mrs. Carlson was a longtime member of Darnestown Presbyterian Church. |
|
|
| She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. |
|
|
| Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Charles E. Carlson of Darnestown; three children, Eric D. Carlson of Los Angeles, Laura A. Harris of Adamstown, Md., and Lynn M. Crawford of Olney; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
