Marguerite Murdock Torbert

Marguerite Murdock Torbert, 88, a former secretary and administrative assistant with several government agencies, died Dec. 7 of a heart attack at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Mass.
Mrs. Torbert was born in the District and graduated from  Eastern High School in 1936. She received a bachelor's degree from American University in 1959.
She worked as an administrative assistant for the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in Germantown from 1948 to 1961, as a secretary for the Air Force in Honolulu from 1961 to 1967 and as a secretary for the Army at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio from 1967 until her retirement in 1984. She remained in San Antonio until moving to Beverly in 2002 to be close to relatives.
She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star.
Her husband, A. John Torbert, died in 1987.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph B. Murdock of Glen Allen, Va.
