ELIZABETH KATHERINE MUNITZ (Age 87)
Of Hagerstown MD, passed away, Friday,
January 14, 2011, at the Meritus Medical Center,
Hagerstown.
Born Tuesday, January 16, 1923, in
Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late
Alfred Frederick Barghausen and the late Mary
Jeanette Fitzgerald Barghausen.
She graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, DC.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy McKinsey and husband,
Mick of Hagerstown, MD, Linda McGehee and husband, Steven of
Waldorf, MD; son, Robert Xander and wife, Patricia of Clifton, VA;
brother, Alfred Barghausen of Boulder, CO; grandchildren, Amy Park,
Lisa Xander and Jeff Xander, Michael and Andrew McGehee;
great-grandchildren, Alex, Jared and Juliana Park and Nicholas McGehee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard E. Xander;
second husband, Sidney J. Munitz; and sister, Margaret Murphy.
Family will receive friends at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160
Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday,
January 20 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, January 21.
Services will be held Friday, January 21, 2011, at 11 a.m., from the
George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, MD. Interment will follow at
the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD 20746.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crohn's
and Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Ave. South, 17th Floor,
New York, NY 10016.
