Elizabeth Crown Darne, 98, a longtime tour guide at the Government Printing Office, died of cardio-respiratory arrest
Feb. 21 at her home in Falls Church.
A native Washingtonian, she graduated from Eastern High School in 1928. She began working at the Government
Printing Office in the 1940s while living in the District's Manor Park neighborhood. After taking time off to have a family,
she returned to the GPO in 1960 and retired in 1970. She also moved to Falls Church in 1960.
Her husband, F. Alton Darne, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Richard Darne of Arlington County.
