SWANNER, Dorothy Phillips, died April 15,
2011 at her home in Glen Allen, Va. She was preceded
in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James E.
Swanner, who died in 2009.
She was born in Washington, D.C., to Milton L.

Milton L. Phillips Jr., all of whom are deceased.
Dorothy grew up in Washington and graduated from Eastern High
School. She studied business and became an executive secretary with the
District Title Co. She married shortly after WW II and became a full-time
homemaker.

grandchildren, Eric (Christina), Krista Pope (Rudy), Phillip (Brenda); and
six great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and decorating
until the last days of her life. "Dot" loved her family, her friends and her
church. She enjoyed meeting new people and keeping in touch with old
friends.

to Kenwood United Methodist Church, 11208 Elmont Rd., Ashland, Va.
