| Demitri E. Nader, 81, who spent about 40 years as a salesman for Capital Cigar & Tobacco Co. until retiring in the 1990s, died Aug. 12 at Tate House hospice in Linthicum. He had salivary gland cancer. |

| While working for Capital Cigar & Tobacco, Mr. Nader also had a second career with Washington Fireworks Co., supplying fireworks to local stand operators for July Fourth celebrations. |
|
| He was also part owner of a pyrotechnics company, staging and producing fireworks displays. He made several trips to China and Taiwan to help select fireworks used in professional shows and for retail sales. |
|
| After retirement, he was a part-time assistant for local travel companies. |
|
| Demitri Edward Nader, whose parents were Lebanese immigrants, was born in Washington and graduated from Eastern High School in 1945. |
|
| His memberships included St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Washington, the Masons and the American Legion. He was a Greenbelt resident. |
|
| His marriage to Doris Meadows Nader ended in divorce. |
|
| Survivors include a daughter, Susan A. Earman of Colonial Beach, Va.; a son, Steven A. Nader of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and a granddaughter. |
