Carl B. Edelin Sr.
Carl B. Edelin Sr., 88, former owner of a Washington printing company, died June 23 of kidney failure at his home in Middletown,
Del. He had lived in Potomac until two years ago.
Mr. Edelin was a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Eastern High School. He became an apprentice printer at Caslon
Press in Washington in 1941 and resumed his career there after serving in the Navy during World War II.
In 1952, he bought Caslon Press and expanded its operations to include printing contracts with the Maryland Milk Producer
Association, U.S. Postal Service and several federal agencies. He sold the business in 1980 and retired.
He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Wheaton, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His wife of 49 years, Anna Edelin, died in 1991.
Survivors include three children, Carl B. Edelin Jr. of Middletown, Barbara Fisher of Frederick and Patricia Wright of Taylorsville,
Md.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildern.
