Bertha Colbert Mitchell

Bertha Colbert Mitchell, 50, a supervisor in Prince George's County
school kitchens, died of a cerebral hemorrhage April 3 at Prince George's
Hospital Center in Cheverly
.
Mrs. Mitchell worked at various county middle schools for seven years,
and she was working at John Carroll Elementary School in Landover at
the time of her death.

Bertha Colbert was born in Cheverly and graduated in 1978 from
Eastern High School in Washington. She attended Prince George's
Community College.

She was a resident of Cheverly, where she and a neighbor formed a
neighborhood watch program.

A son, Davaughn Mitchell, died in 1998.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Timothy Mitchell Sr. of
Cheverly; four children, Stephanie Rowley of Bowie, Timothy Mitchell
Jr. of Hagerstown, Md., and Senora Mitchell and Stephon Mitchell, both
of Cheverly; two stepsons, Andre Strickland of Cheverly and Aaron
Strickland of Annapolis; eight siblings, Lela Tolbert, Barbara Dixon and
Leonard Colbert, all of Washington, Jesse Colbert Jr. and Glen Colbert,
both of Temple Hills, Patricia Corbin of Laurel, Pamela Johnson of San
Francisco and Martin Colbert of Oxon Hill.
