Annette Mildred Hodkinson Herrman

be with her Lord on Thursday, April 1, 2010. She was born April 29,
1921, in Washington DC, daughter of the late Norman S. and Ethel
Hodkinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nelson
Albert Herrman and daughter, Janet Christine Herrman Eisenberg.

She was raised in the DC area along with her brother, Bobby. Annette
graduated from
Eastern High School and attended business school for a
brief time, prior to entering the work force.

On September 6, 1943, she married Nelson A. Herrman. Together they
raised three children, Randy, Wayne and Janet.

After the children reached their teenage years, Annette resumed her
professional career, working for a hospital in an administrative capacity.
Later she worked as an orthodontic assistant and in an administrative
position with a staff of medical doctors.

She was a longtime member of Bruen Chapel United Methodist Church
in Fairfax VA.

Annette was a loving daughter and sister, a devoted mother, grandmother,
and great- grandmother, and a good friend to many.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Nelson Randolph
"Randy" Herrman and wife Linda of Leavenworth KS, and Thomas
Wayne Herrman and wife Peggy of Lake Gaston NC; son-in-law, Donald
Eisenberg of Baton Rouge LA; brother; Norman R. "Bobby" Hodkinson
and wife, Katherine of Oklahoma City OK; nine grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10:30am on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at
National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. Friends may call upon the
family informally at the Lake Gaston home of Wayne Herrman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect United Methodist
Church of Ebony, Building Fund, 1974 Ebony Road, Ebony VA 23845
or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and
Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC.
