Alice Funk, 82, a retired insurance clerk, died April 13 at Washington
Hospital Center in the District of injuries received in a fall.
She worked for Geico Insurance and then, for more than 20 years, at
Banner Life Insurance in Rockville before retiring in the mid-1980s.
Alice Marie Funk was born in Fremont, Iowa. The family moved to
Washington when it was forced off its farm during the Depression. She
was a 1945 graduate of Eastern High School.
She was a member of Ryland Epworth United Methodist Church in the
District and treasurer of the church's chapter of the United Methodist
Women.
She was the historian for a local chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, and for more than two decades, she was assigned
to the C Street NW doors of Constitution Hall during the DAR's annual
convention.
Survivors include a brother.
