Alethea E. "Sue" McKallor, 93, a 25-year resident of Crofton, died Nov. 12, 2009 at the Crofton Convalescent Home.
She was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Washington, D.C., to the late William L. and Viola (nee Vance) Clark, and attended Eastern High School.
She worked for W.B. Higgs and Gutheries office as a clerk and later retired after 30 years at WSSC, where she was customer service
supervisor.
She traveled frequently with her sister to Japan and throughout the United States. She played cards into her nineties, when she was taken by
macular degeneration. She was a member of Bridge club and the Women's Democratic Society. She was loved by all who met her. She had a
"green thumb" and loved tending to her flowers. Known as a "card shark," she loved bowling, watching football and golf, game shows, and had
a big sweet tooth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore McKallor. They married on March 23, 1938, and he later died Oct. 21, 1975. She was also
preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Dant, Mildred Skolnick and Daisy Leon.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan C. McKallor of Crofton.
Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time, 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3
South), Bowie. Interment is private.
