Gerald J. Comeau

Gerald J. Comeau, 77, a barber for 43 years who worked mostly at the Aspen Hill Barber Shop until retiring in 2001, died Dec. 12 of cancer at the Casey House hospice in Rockville. He had lived at Leisure World in Silver Spring since 1999.
Mr. Comeau was born in Lynn, Mass. He served in the Navy and was stationed on  the destroyer Douglas H. Fox during the Korean War. He was trained as a barber at  Chamberlain Vocational High School in the District and began  working at the Aspen Hill shop in 1969.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 35 years. He also belonged to the Sons of Italy Roman Lodge #71 in the District.
Survivors include his wife, Sara B. Comeau of Silver Spring; five children, Catherine Poslosky of Walkersville, Gerald Comeau of Annapolis, Thomas Comeau of  Frederick, Albert Comeau of Ellicott City and Joseph Comeau of Brookeville; 14  grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
