| Pace Agnes Motta, 83, a native Washingtonian and retired legal secretary, died Feb. 17, 2006 at Suburban Hospital of complications of colon surgery in late January. | ||||||||
| Ms. Motta was a graduate of the old Central High School and Washington School of Secretaries. | ||||||||
| She spent the early 1940s doing secretarial work for Rep. D. Lane Powers (R-N.J.) and then for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers from 1944 to 1957. She was a legal secretary for the reporter of decisions at the U.S. Supreme Court from 1957 to 1959. | ||||||||
| She was a member and sang in the choir of Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington. After moving from the District to the ManorCare nursing home in Bethesda in 2001, she participated in singalongs at the facility. | ||||||||
| She painted with oils and watercolors. | ||||||||
| She leaves no immediate survivors. | ||||||||
