

GRACE SCHOPMEYER LINTON
Grace S. Linton, a loving wife, parent and grandparent passed away
peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, February 3, 2011. She was 91.
Grace Linton was born in Duluth, Minnesota and raised in Washington,
DC. She was a graduate of Old Central High School in 1936. She
graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Home
Economics and became a food and nutrition specialist for the Department of
Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland. Grace was a member of the Alpha Phi
Sorority where she served on Alumnae Chapter after graduation. She also
was a member of the American Home Economics Association.
Grace was married to Floyd C. Linton in 1952, a cartographer for the
Defense Mapping Agency who left this world in October of 1999.
Grace was a long time member of Foundry United Methodist Church in
Washington, DC where she was baptized. She taught Sunday school and
served on numerous committees of the church.
Survivors include her daughter Carol Gay of Severna Park, grandson
Christopher and nephews; Craig Schopmeyer of Kensington, MD and Gerald
Schopmeyer of Crestwood, KY.
Memorial Service will be held at the Guild Memorial Chapel, Asbury
Methodist Village-Park view Apartment Complex, 211 Russell Ave.,
Gaithersburg, MD on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the
Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
