On Thursday, January 27, 2011, Edith Kogod of
Chevy Chase, MD. Beloved wife of the late Samuel
Kogod; devoted mother of Leslie (Howard) Libby,
Ronald Kogod, and the late Harold Lee Kogod; loving
sister of Molly Schecter and the late Dorothy Goozh;
cherished grandmother of William, Alexandra, and Jason.
Edith graduated from Central High School and attended George
Washington University. Edith and Samuel were the first couple to be married
at the Washington, DC Jewish Community Center.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30 - 1 p.m. at Adas
Israel Congregation, 2850 Quebec Street NW, Washington, DC. Interment to
follow at Adas Israel Congregation Cemetery, Alabama Avenue SE,
Washington, DC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the interment
through Tuesday evening at her late residence. Minyan services will be each
evening at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may
be made to Adas Israel Congregation.
