Charlene Helen Hockenberry, 91, of Heritage
Harbour, died December 29 at Anne Arundel Medical
Center from pulmonary edema.
She was born July 2, 1920 in New Jersey. A
graduate of Central High School in Washington, DC,
she attended Davis Elkins College in West Virginia where she met her
husband, Richard Hockenberry. They had one daughter, Sue, who
predeceased both of her parents.
Charlene was a homemaker and she enjoyed part time work at Garfinkels
in Spring Valley. She was an avid reader, traveler and follower of national
politics. Her travels took her across the Atlantic and Pacific.
Her time at Heritage Harbour included line dancing, bridge, club
recreation and tours.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by her husband in
January 1986.
She is survived by her nephew, Stuart Moisan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, at
John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis.
Interment Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
