ANGELETTA TILGHMAN WINTERS
Angeletta "Angie" was born on October 1, 1927 in Washington, D.C. to
the late Charles and Clara Tilghman.
Angeletta attended St. Cyprian Catholic School. She went on to graduate
from Central High School. In her later years she attended the University of
the District of Columbia and was six credits from an Associates Degree. Angie
worked at HUD (Housing and Urban Development) for 26 years.
At an early age, Angie and her late husband, Lawrence R. Winters,Sr.
were joined in matrimony on August 4, 1947 in Washington, D.C.
Angeletta departed this life on June 4,2011 from a long illness. She was
preceeded in death by one son, Joseph Richard Sr., three sisters, "Ruth"
Evelyn Howell, "Clara" Agatha Durbin, "Clementine" Dorothea Lewis, eight
brothers, Joseph Mathias, Leo Celestine, Bernadine Humphreys, Cyprian
Olave, Leander Kentigren, Maurice Bartholomew, Sr., Anthony Angelo, and
Arcadius "Steve".
Angeletta is survived by her loving and devoted children, Lawrence
"Carmelita", Marjorie Karim, Jonetta, Romonde "Michelle", daughter-in-law
Mary Frances, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other
relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 17, 2011. Visitation
at 10 a.m. Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Cyprian/Holy Comforter Catholic Church,
1357 East Capitol St. S.E., Washington, D.C. 20003. Monsignor Pope
officiating.
