Ann Daniel Kaland

Sun Prairie - Ann Kaland, 96, formerly of Cedar Grove
passed away Friday morning, March 5, 2021 at New
Perspective Healthcare in Sun Prairie, her home of the
last 9 years.

Ann was born October 8, 1924 in Washington DC, the
daughter of Henry "Brent" and Lenore (nee Gerlach)
Daniel. She graduated from
Calvin Coolidge High
School (1942)
in Washington DC, and went on to
study fashion design and art at the University of New Mexico. While there, she met the
love of her life, Marvin Kaland who was stationed in Los Alamos with the US Army.
The two were united in marriage on July 3, 1947 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in
Arlington, VA. He preceded her in death in 2011.

A longtime member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, Ann taught Sunday
school, maintained the church flowers and plants, and was involved in various other
capacities.

An avid enthusiast of fashion and clothing design, Ann loved making her own clothing
and being in a sewing club. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, baking
birthday cakes and traveling with her husband, children and family friends.

Ann is survived by her son Roger (Mary Kay) Kaland of Sun Prairie, WI and four
grandchildren, David (Ellen Tsay) Kaland, Michael Kaland (fiancé Alexa Ernst),
Michelle (Jake) Zarnstorff and Joanna (Grant Etter) West. She is further survived by
her great-grandchildren Sophie, Zoe and Riley, other relatives and friends.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Marvin, son Mark Kaland and sister Ellen.

Funeral services to celebrate Ann's life will be held on Friday, March 12th at First
Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. Bradford officiating. Visitation will be at
the Church from 10:00am - 11:00am, with the service following at 11:00am. Interment
will take place in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Due to Covid 19, masks and social
distancing guidelines will be required.
