Robert W. Hamilton

  Robert Waugh Hamilton, 85, a Western Electric installation supervisor  who retired in 1981 and a former president of the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department, died Feb. 7 at his home in Silver Spring after a heart  attack.
  Mr. Hamilton was a Takoma Park native and a 1942 graduate of  Coolidge High School. He served in the Army Signal Corps in the Pacific during  World War II and participated in campaigns in New Guinea and the Philippines. His decorations included the Bronze Star.
   He was a member of American Legion Post 41 in Silver Spring and at his death  was the post's judge advocate. He also was a member of Legion district councils. He was a life member of the Legion and the Masons. He also was a member of the Elks and the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts honor society.
  He carried a copy of the bill for the $47.50 cost of his delivery at the old Washington Sanatorium, now Washington Adventist Hospital.
  Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marine Langley Hamilton of Silver Spring; two sons, Richard Hamilton of Laurel and Kenneth Hamilton of Silver Spring; a twin brother; and two grandchildren.
