Phyllis Haltermann, 66, a lifelong District area resident who founded a travel agency in Gaithersburg, died Oct. 10 at her home in Darnestown. She had
lung cancer.
Mrs. Haltermann joined the Internal Revenue Service in 1961 and worked in the travel office. She started the Quince Orchard Travel agency in
Gaithersburg in 1982 and managed the business for more than 25 years.
Phyllis Ann Clar was born in the District. She graduated from Coolidge High School in 1961.
She married Robert Haltermann in 1973. Besides her husband, of Darnestown, survivors include a brother.
